Unveiling ceremony of "Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies - Business, Living, Creativity" Hong Kong programme
Exploring local design development; unleashing Hong Kong's creativity

"Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies" exhibition organised by Hong Kong Design Centre returned home after staging around the Shanghai World Expo with overwhelming success. The Hong Kong programme has officially launched on 17th February, 2011. Guests of honour attended the opening ceremony include Mrs Rita Lau Ng Wai-lan, JP, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong SAR Government; Mr Jerry Liu Wing-leung, Head of Create Hong Kong; Dr Louis Ng Chi-wa, Assistant Director (Heritage and Museums) of Leisure and Cultural Services, Mr Victor Lo, GBS, JP, Chairman of Hong Kong Design Centre; Ms Kai-yin Lo, Chief Curator of the "Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies" exhibition; Mr Freeman Lau, Vice Chairman of Hong Kong Design Centre; Dr Kan Tai Keung, an international renowned designer and Mr Justin Cheung, an emerging young designer.

In addition, established designers such as artist; anothermountainman, architect William Lim; product designer Lee Chi Wing; and some young designers including fashion designer Aries Sin, and new media designer Chris Cheung also attended to show their support the event. The event provided an opportunity for designers to share their design creativeness and concepts to each other.

The "Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies" exhibition is now open to general public until 11th May, 2011, at Thematic Gallery 6 of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Seven main themes namely Business Meets Design, Legacy Innovators, Image Builders, Urban Culture, Brand Creators, International Talent and The Young Generation are featured in the exhibition, letting local citizens to experience the vitality of Hong Kong design industry and its creative DNA. Hong Kong Design Centre will invite design experts and business leaders to hold the public forums; and to cooperate with school groups for design workshops. 「香港：創意生態 ─ 商機、生活、創意」香港站活動揭幕
解構本港設計發展，策動全民創意力

香港設計中心於上海世博期間舉行的重點項目「香港：創意生態 ─ 商機、生活、創意」主題展覽已經載譽回歸香港，並在2月17日在香港文化博物館揭幕。主禮嘉賓包括：香港特別行政區商務及經濟發展局局長劉吳惠蘭、創意香港總監廖永亮、康樂及文化事務署助理署長（文物及博物館）吳志華博士、香港設計中心主席羅仲榮，「香港：創意生態」活動的總策展人羅啟妍、香港設計中心董事局副主席劉小康，著名設計師靳埭強及年輕設計師張漢文一同出席了開幕典禮，為是次的展覽及一連串的活動，如導賞團、公眾論壇及工作坊等揭開序幕。

此外，一眾參展的香港著名設計師，如：藝術家又一山人、建築師林偉而、產品設計師利志榮﹔年輕新晉設計師時裝設計師冼美玉及新媒體設計師張瀚謙亦一同蒞臨「香港：創意生態」活動的開幕。此活動不但讓各界的香港設計師聚首一堂，亦讓出席的嘉賓加深了解設計師的創意及理念。

「香港：創意生態」展覽由即日起於香港文化博物館 (專題展覽館六) 展出，至5月11日結束。展覽的主題主要劃分為七大範疇：商業遇上設計、傳承革新、形象塑造者、都市文化、品牌創立、國際精英及創意新一代，讓市民從多角度親身感受香港生機勃勃的設計產業及創意基因。香港設計中心會於3月及4月期間邀請設計精英和商界領導舉辦公眾論壇；並與學校團體合作，為學生安排設計工作坊。查詢有關詳情，請致電+ 852 3793 8449或電郵到jaime.chan@hkdesigncentre.org與陳小姐聯絡。
